Director of Engineering and Estimating

Director of Estimating & Engineering is responsible for implementing & operating the RFQ process through
to completion. In the Dir. of Estimating & Engineering role should be able to interface with clients about their
project needs & requirements. Designing any critical rigging requirements for a specific project. Leading &
mentoring the estimating & engineering team will be a large part of the client service product development of
proposals & client interaction. Assist with the sales group lead(s) to sell the project through to award. Work
with project development & execution teams with project requirements & deliverables. Work with finance on
margin analysis and forecasting cash flow for the company backlog. Training and mentoring other groups
within ParFab with estimating & template tools. Assist with report development data for ownership
presentation. Directly report to Sr. VP of Commercial Services.
Responsibilities:
Receive RFQ & process into the ParFab system & assign estimating lead(s).
Follow through the estimating process leading the quality checks & mentoring the estimating lead(s) &
engineering lead(s).
Lead a group of estimating team(s) to reach the individual and team goals set by ParFab leadership
team.
Lead the estimating team with utilizing new techniques & implementing these tools within the estimating
team.
Foster individual ideas, mentor, & guide those ideas to fruition to improve processes within ParFab.
Assist with management leadership reviews of the proposal & estimate.
During development guiding the strategy of the estimate and interfacing with other ParFab groups such
as Management, Finance, Sales, & Operations.
Deliver a quality proposal that meets all deliverables requested by the client.
Interface with clients on clarifications & assisting the sales team leads with selling the project.
Interface with Project Execution support team leads and transitioning the estimate to their team.
Develop any special project rigging & crane lifts requirements.
Assist/mentor project planning during the proposal development phase (utilize Primavera software).
Assist/mentor proposal subcontract development.
Update Salesforce database during the proposal development & award.
Assist/mentor Operation lead(s) with any project needs (supports Ops).
Examine & develop historical & lesson learned from past data to share with the estimating group.
Work with Finance group on contract interpretation and analyzing data or develop a WBS for each
project.
Train & develop other groups within ParFab on estimating tools & templates.
Assist with company reporting data & statistics (win/loss ratio)
Report to Sr. VP weekly every Thursday a quick update on the group progress and goals.
