You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailJOB SUMMARY: Under the supervision of the designated Section Manager/Supervisor,performs clinical laboratory procedures, quality assurance, and instrument calibration andmaintenance.The position reports to the appropriate Section Manager/Supervisor. The Clinical LaboratoryScientist I also maintains cooperative working relationships with intradepartmental andinterdepartmental personnelEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree or higher No experience necessary. Must provide documentation of successful completion of a Medical Technology /Clinical Laboratory Science training program. Promotion by authority of the Department Manager based on performance and notexperience. Must provide documentation of passing a National Certification exam (American SocietyClinical Pathology, AMT, etc.) PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essentialresponsibility satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individualswith disabilities to perform the essential functions. The individual must be able to: Stand, walk, sit, stoop, reach, lift, see, speak and hear. Lifting is limited to 35 lbs. forclinical staff and to 50 lbs. for non-clinical staff. The individual must use an assisted-liftdevice or get another individual(s) to assist with the lift that is over these maximumlimits.SUPERVISION REQUIREMENTS Minimal supervision of others is required. Assumes supervisory responsibility of ahighly skilled group of Clinical Laboratory Scientists, Clinical Laboratory Technicians,and support staff, as delegated in the absence of the Technical Supervisor.
