Details of the role:
We are looking for a Senior Power BI Architect to work with the business and IT teams. The responsibilities include creating technical solutions, creating data storage tools, and conducting tests.
Must have a broad understanding of the business technology landscape, the ability to design reports, strong analytical skills, strong written and verbal communication, and proficiency in reporting analysis tools.
Key responsibilities:
- Perform a full discovery of current Brio Implementation (Reports, Queries, dashboards etc..), DB2 Tables, data sources (including Cognos) and Processes
- Conduct workshops and working sessions with technology and business stakeholders to capture and document current state and define requirements
- Analyze and identify data aggregation, cleanup, normalization, filtering and calculated fields requirements
- Understand and document security and access requirements.
- Setup Power BI environment and configurations
- Recommend covering report optimization and rationalization.
- Developing, maintaining, and managing advanced reporting, analytics, dashboards, and other BI solutions such as Tableau.
- Performing and documenting data analysis, data validation, and data mapping/design.
- Conducting unit tests and developing database queries to analyze the effects and troubleshoot any issues.
- Creating tools to store data within the organization.
Required Skills:
- Degree in mathematics, computer science, information systems, or related field.
- 10+ years of experience in BI and data analytics
- Excellent knowledge of Power BI tools such as SSRS and Power Pivot
- A solid understanding of DB2, Cognos, SQL, rational databases, and normalization.
- Proficiency in the use of query and reporting analysis tools.
- Competency in Excel (macros, pivot tables, etc.)
- Extensive experience in developing, maintaining, and managing Power BI-driven dashboards & analytics
- Knowledge of PowerBI performance optimization techniques
- Working knowledge of Power BI administration/architecture.
