The Sampling Technician will have direct involvement with start-up, shut down and troubleshooting of the injection molding processes as well as all related automation equipment to support our Mission to deliver exceptional services, engineered solutions and quality products on time.

Essential Functions

• Sampling of molds in manufacturing launch and creating new injection molding processes consistent with defined Approved Molding Process guidelines and the manufacturer s processing guidelines for the material.
• Complete required steps to construct the Molding Instruction Manual (MIM)
• Set up and or assist with set up and process development for cartesian robots and ensure instructions are included in the MIM.
• Creating Approved Molding Process for prior molds launched.
• Assisting with molding floor troubleshooting when requested (Typically by Supervisor)
• Stay current on Injection Molding Processing/Troubleshooting Techniques
• Assist with training and personnel development as requested to do so by the Training & Continuous Improvement Coordinator.
• Follow all safety guidelines and rules
• Follow written work procedures

Preferred Skills:

• Ability to navigate IQMS
• Blueprint reading helpful

Required Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or GED
• 10 Years of experience in the development of new injection molding processes and with troubleshooting injection molding jobs.
• Must be adept at coaching and training less experienced injection molding personnel to assist them in developing skills.

Preferred Education and Experience:

• RJG Master Molder 1 training or equivalent, or ability to obtain within 1 year
• 2 or 4 year degree in Plastics, Injection Molding Processing, Plastics and Polymers technology
