Senior Procurement Specialist

Reporting to the Manager of Procurement, you will purchase assigned items Texturants and Components categories You'll supply materials at favorable prices consistent with quality, quantity and delivery specifications. Negotiate and approve contract agreements and help develop and maintain new sources of supply, supplier relations and the identification of alternate or substitute sources of supply.


What You'll Do:

Plan activities related to the categories of spend managed
Prepare contracts, bids, proposals, and vendor agreements for legal correctness, price, and acceptability of items to specifications
Oversee all activities related to procurement of a material, from intent to purchase through delivery of the material
Negotiate complex requests for materials or services
Build relationships with internal partners and suppliers
Support business process improvements and documentation
Recruit and maintain suppliers that provide high-quality products and services at a better price while maintaining the highest code of ethics and conduct
Resolve vendor claims and contracts for conformance to company policy
Champion change management programs to embrace and integrate demand-motivated principles within Procurement and throughout the company
Manage procurement master data in SAP and Right Angle to help promote process efficiencies
Support R&D on innovation projects and work with the plants to manage the inbound supply chain
Conduct research and provide analytic support for issues and ad hoc projects
Support business process improvements and documentation


What You'll Have:

Bachelor's degree
3 or more years' experience in Purchasing, Supply Chain, or Sales
Experienced in building vendor relationships and achieving sizable cost savings from strategic cost reduction programs
Project management
Develop strategies and take them through implementation
Understanding of economics, technical issues and ability to perform independent value analysis and value engineering
Negotiation and contract-development
Customer/client service oriented
Desire to approach work as a continuous learning opportunity
Travel required up to 15%
Familiarity with e-procurement technologies and systems integration
Understanding of material requirements planning
Excel (can maintain complex spreadsheets), Word, PowerPoint, and Access.
