Job Description

Art Directors at Amplify build beautiful and meaningful experiences that delight our young learners and their teachers, inside and outside of the classroom. As a member of Amplifys design group you will partner with the lead of Professional Development to set the vision for our educator-facing multimedia materials for all products and services.

This position is based in Brooklyn, but can be remote.
Amplify requires all staff to provide proof of COVID vaccination for in-person meetings unless an approved exemption is provided.

Responsibilities


Partner with creative leadership to develop a vision and design strategy for all professional learning materials

Lead the concepting and design development of small and large-scale video, digital and print projects, standardize style guides and templates.

Conceive, plan, and produce educational materials such as participant materials or customer-facing materials, asynchronous professional development videos, instructional slide decks

Gather project requirements and lead all aspects of the design pipeline from concept to final design production

Direct a creative team (vendor or in-house) and lead reviews and feedback cycles with collaborators

Provide design feedback and communicate requirements to vendors

Collaborate closely with other members of the design, content, product, and operations teams

Construct and manage multiple challenging schedules for design deliverables

Efficiently lead at high volume from start to finish in a fast-paced environment

Basic Qualifications


7+ years of experience in multimedia publishing and digital production

Proven expertise using graphic design, layout and typography skills for visual storytelling

Proven expertise with video and animation production

Advanced layout, typography, iconography, color theory, composition, motion graphics and animation skills

Expert knowledge of raster and vector file formats

Expert knowledge of Adobe InDesign, including experience with templates, master pages, paragraph and character styles, table and cell styles.

Expert knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Figma and prototyping software

Working knowledge of video editing software (After Effects is preferred)

3+ years experience managing others, formally or project-based

Strong organizational and time-management skills

A love of spreadsheets

Capable of working on simultaneous projects to meet tight deadlines

Desire to work on a collaborative team with high standards

Bachelors degree in design or equivalent work experience

Strong prototyping skills

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications


Experience with publishing, digital and video production

Experience designing for K-12 elementary classrooms

Experience with in-house creative services

Enthusiasm for contributing to the landscape of education

A love of teaching

Proficiency in Spanish
