Typical projects range between $1M and $15M and consist of water, storm sewer, sanitary sewer, road and bridge construction.
The Project Manager will be responsible for the overall project administration, coordination, scheduling and on-site construction activities.
Responsibilities
- Manage and coordinate all construction activities.
- Overall responsibility for safety, quality, and budget for projects
- Prepare submittals, subcontracts and CPM schedules
- Track project progress with updated schedules and as-built drawings
- Track quantities of completed work and prepare all project billings
- Attend job progress meetings
- Coordinate work with subcontractors and suppliers
- Create change order estimates and deliver proposals to clients
- Manage project documentation
- Review drawings and identify potential issues.
- Prepare RFI’s and suggest solutions
- Be able to clarify drawings and specifications for field personnel
- Develop relationships with prospective, current, and past clients
- Work closely with field supervisors and communicate effectively with management on a daily basis.
Qualification:
- BS. in Civil Engineering or Construction Management
- MUST have 10 years of heavy/civil construction project management experience
- Familiar with water and sewer, paving, bridge construction, stream restoration, retaining walls, sound walls and all other highway construction
- Project and/or customer experience with federal, state, local governments.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Blueprint reading proficiency
- Strong analytical, prioritization and organizational skills; detail-oriented
- Proficient using scheduling and reporting software tools like Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project
- Basic CAD skills and strong working knowledge computers and software programs.
