In order to contribute to business success with data driven decisions and analytical insights, Homeday is looking for an experienced Data / Analytics Engineer to join the Engineering team in the Data & Analytics department. Team consists of Data, Tracking and Analytics Engineers and is responsible for providing the data as a single source of truth, maintenance of the technical architecture (ETL pipeline) and data governance. The candidate will work in close collaboration with Data Analysts and business stakeholders, and will also be responsible for data modelling to provide clean, accurate datasets for use across the organisation.

  • Remote Policy - Work flexibly throughout Germany. Your team decides when and how often you meet at the office
  • Location - Germany

Your key responsibilities will be the following:

  • Communicate with business stakeholders and play a key role in data driven decision making
  • Lead end-to-end cross-functional analytics projects
  • Work closely with the Product Engineering teams to drive strategy and execute company goals
  • Develop high quality data models and visualisation solutions
  • Be responsible for the technical data infrastructure and quality assurance
  • Maintenance of complex data pipelines (ETL and data architecture)

Requirements:

  • Excellent analytical and conceptual capabilities
  • Attention to detail, team player and problem solving abilities
  • A positive, can-do attitude for new challenges and an ability to learn fast
  • Proficient knowledge in SQL (incl. data modelling)
  • Mastery of the visualisation tools (like Tableau, Looker)
  • Familiar with building ETL processes and Data Warehouses, data architecture and integration
  • Knowledge of the 3d party data integration and automation tools (e.g. Fivetran, Rundeck, Airflow)
  • Experience in version control such as Github, Gitlab
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English (German is a plus)
  • Good Python skills are a plus
  • Knowledge in statistics is a plus

Nice to have (but not a must):

  • Data Engineering skills like data ingestion, data mining and warehousing
  • Data transformation tools (like dbt)
  • Additional languages: JavaScript, Bash, basics of HTML
  • Fundamentals with AWS cloud solutions
  • Machine Learning knowledge
  • Comprehension of web-development, server-side programming, shell scripting, databases (SQL and NoSQL)
