The Competitive Strategy and Intelligence team leads the charge to empower the Americas business with deep understanding of the competitive landscape. This team partners with key leaders in the business, finance and product teams across eBay to identify, synthesize and quantify, competitive opportunity across multiple business categories. The team spans skills across research, strategy, analytics and user experience. The Manager, Competitive Strategy will require strong analytical and strategic savvy, the ability to gather and analyze loads of competitive data to distill to practical insights, and the skill to convey compelling stories for eBays senior leadership team. This individual will be responsible for designing and implementing a series of research initiatives that help eBay better understand where to play, how to win, and how to optimize business strategy.
We are looking for a new member of our Competitive Strategy & Intelligence team who has a love for competitive strategy and analytics. Youll use all this intel to drive winning sales plays, with a reputation for delivering simple and compelling insights with urgency and integrity. You have a love for people, a brain for analysis, and a roll-up-your-sleeves' attitude.
The ideal candidate will be able to:

Develop insightful market intelligence about key industry trends and communicate with the organization regarding their strategic implications
Conduct quantitative and qualitative studies that provide guidance on how to prioritize and win in key market segments learning from our core competitors go to market strategies
Analyze research data to build compelling, insightful storylines that illuminate opportunities and threats for the business, ability to go deep into financial statements and reports to understand key trends and build out models supporting recommendations
Develop and manage vendor partnerships within the technology and competitive insights industry working with both new and established players in the market
Author executive level reports and make informed recommendations to key partners and influencers on a regular cadence teasing out key concrete strategy recommendations
Manage multiple ongoing projects in an organized fashion including the development of clear project plans, partnering with team members across the organization, and developing and delivering key deliverables in a timely manner
Able to develop strong professional relationships and influence others in a matrixed organization. They will be able to engage and influence with various leaders and cross functional partners throughout the organization to move project deliverables forward.
Ability to extract insights from data and translate that into clear, practical recommendations. Stellar analytical skills and experience crafting/visualizing business strategy, and experience in manipulating large data sets/ interpreting data trends.
What you need to succeed:

2+ years of strategy consulting experience required
Top-tier undergraduate degree and MBA a plus
Excellence in structured thinking with superior analytical capabilities (quantitative and qualitative)
Ability to communicate clearly and simply with mid-level and senior audiences
Highly collaborative be fun, outgoing, and easy to work with!
Relentless but relationship-driven ensuring that debates and discussions not only lead to good outcomes for all involved, but also set a positive tone for multi-functional teams
SQL skills a plus
Experience in commerce/consumer internet a plus
