Operations Manager Process Chemical Industry - Tennessee



Salary $135,000 - $150,000 + Bonus + Benefits + Paid Relocation to Tennessee Where there is NO personal state income tax! We are recruiting for an Operations Manager for a growing, but stable, chemical company with opportunities to move up. There are also performance-based rewards. Stellar benefits package.



As the Operations Manager, your goals will be to provide leadership and management as you and your team drive improvements while maintaining a positive and safe workplace. Your focus is on data driven continuous improvements & increased reliability benefiting quality & the bottom line.



Youll report directly to the Plant Manager and have at least 2 direct & up to 15 indirect reports. Using your engineering expertise while working regularly with QC, Maintenance, R&D, Production, & support personnel, youll identify opportunities to optimize operating efficiencies and develop and lead the implementation of improvements and cost reductions. Working with R&D and the pilot plant, youll manage the support for new product introduction.



Youll manage the daily production yield as well as the usual production activities like budgets, forecasts, and development & updating of SOPs. Youll manage the design & installation of small and medium sized capital projects to support production. Youll support training on safety & environmental compliance matters. Experience in a unionized plant is helpful.



Minimum requirements for this Operations Manager position:



  • Bachelors Degree in Chemical Engineering

  • At least 10 years of experience in a chemical manufacturing with at least 5 years in a management role

  • Thorough understanding of technical support for chemicals, PSM, MOC, & EHS, GMP & environmental compliance

  • Experience in process design and improvement in both batch and continuous operations

  • Experience with distillation processes

  • Experience with designing and installing small and medium sized capital projects

  • Experience drafting technical reports to include developing and updating SOPs

  • Experience with process troubleshooting and debottlenecking

  • Demonstrated ability in developing operational budgets and financial targets.
