Tool & Die Maker requires:
1st, 2nd & 3rd shift
Have knowledge of safety and be able to design guards and safety devices for production situations.
Be able to design and construct ergonomic tools for production associates.
Be able to implement cost saving ideas through die constructions and assembly techniques.
Work in a professional manner.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Successful completion of certified four-year tool and die apprentice training program or demonstrated O.J.T. proficiency.
Includes shop mathematics, handbook formulas and trigonometry.
Must have thorough knowledge of and work with complicated blueprints, mechanical drawings, and sketches.
Capable of using of all types of precision measuring instruments.
Thorough knowledge of principles of mechanics and machine tool operations.
Thorough knowledge of working qualities and heat treatment of materials.
Be able to design and construct ergonomic tools for production associates.
Be able to implement cost saving ideas through die constructions and assembly techniques.

Tool & Die Maker duties:
Safety shoes and safety glasses with side shields required at all times.
Ear protection, gloves, aprons, grinding shields, welding protective equipment, and painting equipment required occasionally.
Potential hazard for injury to fingers hands and eyes from machine operations and metal chip debris.
Potential hazards from heavy falling objects such as die plates and parts. On feet most of the time.
Non-repetitive work.
Occasional lifting of weights from 5 to 50 pounds, any weight over 50 pounds requires either physical or mechanical help.
Ability to raise arms above chest/shoulder level and overhead.
Closely concentrated mental and visual attention for planning and laying out work and performing a wide variety of operations requiring a very high degree skill and accuracy.
Performs a variety of operations such as advanced die design and construction of progressive dies, and compound dies.
Guidance to other associates in the construction, repair, and engineering changes in existing stamping dies.
