WVUB Production Assistant Vincennes University
Part-Time
Duties include on-air work, assisting in the production of remote broadcasts, recording promotional and underwriting copy, assisting with promotional/station events. Some writing may also be required. In other words, all aspects of local radio broadcasting.
Responsibilities for this position may include:
On-air work as needed, including weekends
Operate on-air console and audio controls.
Receive and screen incoming calls during broadcast.
Run live radio shows, play music and commercials.
Produce and edit audio programming segments.
Understand the procedures to follow in case of computer crash or loss of broadcast signal.
Communicate with designated station staff in the event of any concerns, issues, or problems
with the broadcast.
Assist with remote appearances.
Monitor and update weather, event and news reports into automation system
Social Media posting as requested
Other duties as assigned.
Requirements of this position include the following:
Must be detail oriented
Ability to multi-task and handle interruptions
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth, rapidly changing culture and environment
Must possess strong written and oral communication skills
Must possess strong computer skills
Must hold a valid driver's license and current auto insurance.
Preference may be given to candidates who meet the above requirements plus the following:
Students currently enrolled in the Broadcasting Program at Vincennes University
Previous commercial or non-commercial radio experience with a background in operating remote broadcasts.
Experience operating automation systems such as WideOrbit.
Experience in Adobe Audition.
