An AmLaw firm with nearly 300 attorneys nationwide, has an opening for a Docketing Manager in their Docket department.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Assess daily calendars and read/respond to attorney emails in preparation for scheduled filings, deadlines and other assignments/tasks to be completed.
Examine all incoming electronic filing alerts from courts and legal vendors; process alerts and calendar relevant deadlines.
Review documents for court filing to insure State and Federal requirements are met; confer with attorneys and paralegals as needed regarding compliance and advice on court rules.
Oversee the firms Docket Department and coordinate on all court filings (via electronic case filing or manual court filings), calendaring of deadlines and advice to attorneys and paralegals on court procedures. Allocate e-filing requests between us as necessary.
Designate research assignments to Docket and Litigation Clerks as needed; assign Court Clerks to various manual filings and other external clerical assignments.
Communicate with Federal and State Court Reporters to order transcripts of hearings, trials and conferences as necessary.
Liaise with legal service vendors for retrieval of documents in manual courts outside NYC jurisdiction.
Manage incoming Service of Process and route documents to appropriate attorneys and clients (link removed)> Utilizing Compulaw, review all firm deadlines and generate a Two-Week Litigation Calendar on a weekly basis (Fridays).
