Job Description

Our client, a progressive plaintiff personal injury firm in Houstons prestigious Uptown district, seeks a Paralegal for their most important matters. This position would be responsible for conducting meaningful legal work in support of a very successful practice team where process and efficiency enable them to take highly rewarding cases. This group works in a highly collaborative environment where each member of the team is valued for their respective expertise.  Responsibilities include: Preparing draft Petitions, discovery requests, and responses, motions, and responses Calendaring and tracking all deadlines and ensuring timely compliance with the same Gathering medical and billing records, reviewing and summarizing the same Preparing draft settlement demand letters and packages for attorney review Discussing options and settlement authority with clients pursuant to attorney direction and oversight Researching causes of action, party identity, etc Working with clients to prepare draft responses to discovery; draft "file ready" responses for attorney review E-filing documents with state and federal entities Negotiating reductions on medical bills, liens, and subrogation claims pursuant to attorney direction and oversight Reviewing and preparing releases and settlement disbursement documents Interacting with clients, including review of discovery, deposition preparation, etc Qualifications 3 years of personal injury experience High School Diploma Paralegal certification or degree preferred Ability to fluently speak, write, and read Spanish, preferred Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, must be able to multi-task and work under pressure Excellent written and verbal communication skills
