Job Description

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Represent our client in a professional, cordial manner at all times to ensure customer and employee satisfaction
  • Record keeping and tracking all labor and material on all jobs on a daily basis.
  • This individual is responsible for planning, scheduling, assigning, participating in, and inspecting the work of electricians and apprentices on special projects.
  • Read specifications, blueprints, and submittal data to determine construction requirements or to plan procedures. Interpret the meaning of this information for others by translating or explaining what the information means and how it can be used.
  • Order materials, equipment, and supplies.
  • Record information such as personnel, production, or operational data on specified forms.
  • Train workers in construction methods, operation of equipment, safety procedures, or company policies. Identify the developmental needs of others and coach, mentor, or otherwise help others to improve their knowledge or skills
  • Confer with project manager & estimators, or other contractors to resolve problems or to coordinate activities.
  • Estimate material or worker requirements to complete jobs utilizing daily/weekly goal tracking.
  • Thorough knowledge of the National Electrical Code, practices, methods, equipment, materials, and tools of the electrical trade.
  • Handling complaints, settling disputes, and resolving conflicts.
  • Thorough knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions of the work and demonstrate commitment to safety.
  • Ability to estimate sizes, distances, and quantities; or determine labor, time, resources, or materials needed to perform a work activity or assist with estimating.
  • Flexibility, ability to adapt and comply with Company/Client requirements.
  • General understanding and ability to work with other trades to coordinate/schedule installation of electrical work.
  • A desire to learn and develop within the role
  • Able to work eight (8) hour days, forty (40) hours per week and overtime as needed. Out of town work when needed
  • Go on service calls as necessary
  • Troubleshooting of electrical equipment and systems
  • Other duties as assigned
  • EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS:

    • High school diploma, completion of G.E.D.
    • Equivalent technical school or work experience
    • 5-years' experience in the electrical trade
    • Harrisburg Journeyman's license, or ability to pass journeyman's test
    • Possess or ability to possess DOT medical certificate
    • Experience in Windows, Word, Excel required
    • Criminal background check required for hire
    • English language skill

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to climb, bend, stoop, squat, crawl, kneel, balance, push, pull, reach overhead and repetitive use of arms, hands, and figures. Perform work at various heights on ladders, scaffolds, aerial lifts, cat walks or other safe work areas. This position requires the ability to lift 50 pounds. Employees must possess good vision whether it be normal or corrected.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT: While performing the duties of this job, the Employee-Owner must have the Ability to work in all elements, depending on job location, time of year, heat, cold, rain or snow. The employee may be required to work in restricted areas (switchgear room, manholes, utility tunnels, crawl spaces, attics). The person in this position must be able to utilize construction site sanitary facilities and wear personal protective equipment at all times hard hat and safety glasses.
