Information Technology Support Engineer

Responsibilities

• Escalate issues to appropriate groups and track problem resolution
• Conducted frequent failure analysis and follow-up with application teams from issue resolution and prioritization.
• Analyzed alert metrics from various applications to arrive at the recurrent production issues.
• Managed risks and assist in resolving issues that affect the release scope and quality.
• Generated system health check reports, site traffic, and order status report. Provide key performance indicator reports to higher management.
• Establishing the root causes of application errors and escalating serious concerns to the Senior Engineer.
• Monitor network and application performance to identify irregular activity Use AWS tools
• Should be ready to work in rotation on a 24x7 schedule, and be available on call at other times due to the critical nature of the role

Required Skills

• A bachelor's degree in software engineering, computer science, information technology, information systems, computer engineering, or similar.
• Exhibit a strong sense of urgency for high severity incidents
• Exceptional ability to prioritize and diagnose IT problems
• A passion for finding the root cause of problems, even when the process is tedious
• Awareness of, and ability to reason about, modern software & systems architectures, including load-balancing, queueing, caching, distributed systems failure modes generally, microservices, and more.
• Deep understanding of operating system-level concepts such as processes, memory allocation, and the network stack, knowledge of how applications are affected by the above, and ability to debug the same.
• Experience in AWS tools, and CloudWatch Monitoring.
• Basic Understanding of VPC, NAT, Firewall, CIDR, and OS

Nice to have skills

• Experience in AWS services like s3, ec2,
• Operational knowledge of TCP/IP and software-defined networking concepts.
• Experience with web servers, and database concepts.
