JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Toronto Career Office Business Leader (OBL) leads the Toronto Career team and business, with focus and accountability for sales and revenue growth, market presence, client relationships and colleague engagement targets.
As Toronto Career Office Business Leader (OBL), youll report directly to the Career Canada Leader and be a key member of the Career Canada Leadership team. You will lead the Career Business in Toronto within a thriving, highly engaged and productive Canadian business and you will collaborate with the Toronto Office Leader and our colleagues across our businesses to help deliver Mercer Canadas ambitious growth and people agenda.
You will have an external market-facing presence and an important internal people-centered approach too. You will cultivate an engaged, agile and flexible team in order to grow a business that assists clients in developing all aspects of their business - Executive compensation planning, creating broad based workforce and talent strategies, design and implementation of organizational and HR Transformation strategies and systems and change management and communications. You will capitalize on the investments Mercer has made to create innovative solutions aimed at helping our clients achieve their talent of the future strategies. You will build strong client relationships and align products, services, and solutions to the Toronto market, making an everyday difference in peoples lives.
In addition, youll have a leadership and mentoring responsibility to help develop a strong and talented team, and your voice will be critical in ensuring that Mercers hiring, retention, and engagement strategies are enabling our team to thrive. Youll have a particular focus on ensuring our Diversity, Equity and Inclusion imperatives are priorities in all our talent management processes, and that our talent is representative of the communities we live in.
RESPONSIBILITIES:

Growth:
Formulate and execute a business strategy at the market level that balances both empathy and economics, in alignment with regional strategy, contributing to the financial success of the business and market overall
Manage client revenue levels by ensuring positive client relationships are formed, maintained and growing
Deliver profitable growth with diverse revenue streams and efficient delivery models
Deliver a modern, digital experience to delight our clients
Lead key client engagements, supporting and directing the work of the project team, and developing strategic and innovative solutions that address client needs and issues
Manage overall service delivery, ensuring positive and productive client relationships
Leadership:
Set a positive, ambitious tone at all levels of the organization and inspires people to do great things
Hire, manage, and develop a diverse team of senior and talented professionals, providing effective performance feedback and identifying timely career development opportunities
Provide direction and focus to the Toronto Career team, driving engagement through frequent communication and dialogue, and creating agility in order to pivot as client needs evolve
Incorporate Diversity & Inclusion into talent and business processes and decisions to ensure we bring diversified perspectives to our clients and in the solutions, we deliver
QUALIFICATIONS:

Strong understanding of the Mercer Career business, with expertise in one of the key areas of Compensation, Executive Rewards or Transformation and Change.
Demonstrated success in leading engaged and successful teams.
Demonstrated success driving revenue growth/expanding share in the Toronto market.
Highly effective relationship building skills.
Proven track record of influencing others within an organization both vertically and horizontally and with external organizations.
Proven track record of leading with a client-centered orientation.
Passion, energy, and enthusiasm.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

Relevant education in business, finance, economics, psychology, or other business-related areas. Advanced degree is preferred.
Significant experience in a professional services environment with an HR consulting focus.
Success leading workforce transformative change efforts within a matrixed organization.
