THE ROLE

We are looking for our next Chief Technology Officer (f/m/x) based in Berlin to own the development and operation of our Multi-Tenant TV Streaming Platform. The ideal candidate brings extensive experience as well as a passion to guide, lead and inspire a scalable SaaS solution to our Executive Management Team.

As CTO at Zattoo you are responsible for over 100 skilled and motivated Coders, Testers, Leaders and Innovators. Together with your leadership team you make sure they are working towards common goals which are aligned with our business strategy. With our Software Architecture you own the core of our platform and make sure that it stays state of the art by constantly challenging the status quo. You apply your impeccable communication skills by helping to translate business needs into our roadmap and representing the needs and challenges of your team to the Executive Management.

Together with the Product Leadership you shape and provide the foundation of our business: our Multi-Tenant TV Platform which is highly tailored to the TV and VOD use cases and builds on state-of-the art software stacks. The core components in our main engineering units (Frontend, Middleware, Video Backend and Operations) are in house developments that allow for a seamless end to end experience as well as full control of the roadmap and business terms. You will join the well established Platform Council consisting of seasoned Directors of all engineering units, as well as Product, Data and Design Leaders which defines and aligns strategy, cross-functional squads setup and chapter work.

WHAT YOU LL DO

• Define and lead the strategic and technical direction of our state of the art TV/VOD Streaming Platform
• Align advancements in technology, customer and future market needs with the product, it s software architecture and our organizational structure
• Closely collaborate with our CPO and the Product Org to ensure an aligned and focussed product roadmap
• Together with our agile team, lead the application of agile methodology and leadership within your unit and the whole organization
• Join executive level negotiations with big customers as technical representative
• Empower your leads to take ownership for their areas while making sure they stay aligned with each other and our business goals
• Represent your team and topic in the Executive Management Team to make sure relevant issues are addressed and informed decisions are made
• Collaborate with your leadership team to ensure a culture of continuous improvement with focus on results
• Represent Zattoo s Engineering topics at external events like conferences, panels and industry associations

WHAT YOU LL BRING

• 10+ years of experience in fast-paced international tech companies
• 5+ years leadership experience, guiding and structuring international teams in an agile organization
• Strong technical background in at least one of the following fields: SaaS Platforms, Video Streaming & Hosting, Unicast IPTV, Quality Assurance in these fields
• Track-record of successfully scaling SaaS Platforms
• A big picture strategic mind combined with the ability to translate strategies into concrete tactics and actions
• Enthusiasm to embrace change and nature to win colleagues to embrace it with you
• Effective communication skills with the ability to translate easily between tech experts and business minds
• Flexibility to travel on a regular basis and the potential to be onsite in our Berlin office on average 2 days per week
• Fluency in English and preferably German
