Tasks

• Build and lead a software development team composed of internal and external people
• Oversee the system design and architecture to come up with a scalable and reliable system.
• Leading all aspects of the development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, strategic planning, design/architecture, execution, deployment, and maintenance
• Working closely with frontend and product on the platform for thousands of users per month: Plan data models and architecture and execute new features from beginning to end.
• You ll design and architect the backend, but will also be directly involved in many product decisions, with a lot of space for growth.
• Managing technology area budget and costs.

Requirements

• Bachelor's/Master s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering
• 5+ years of work experience in a Backend Engineering role
• Experience in building and managing engineering teams
• Experience building the reliable technology landscape in the hyper growth/scaling up phase in the start-up environment would be highly desirable
• Strong experience in building scalable infrastructure
• Experience in working with cloud-based systems (i.e., AWS) is highly desirable
• Strong experience with PostgreSQL databases, Node.js, Express.js & TypeScript
• Good experience with React & Next.js
• Ownership: You are a self-starter and are satisfied by owning large chunks of the product roadmap
• Caring about quality, performance, user experience and security
• Fluency in English (German is a plus, but not required)
