Renewable Exchange is a market leader. Our Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) Marketplace is the cornerstone of our offering, connecting any renewable generation asset in the UK with every PPA option available. We add value to our clients while ensuring that we take an ethical, client first approach to everything we do.

Renewable Exchange now works with almost 2,000 generators totalling over 5GW of generation capacity in the UK! Through our PPA Marketplace we enable independent generators to ensure they are always maximising the value of the renewable electricity they generate.

This is a key role in the next phase of our growth strategy in the renewable energy industry, as we look to innovate our SaaS offering and build new products and services which will help us reach more generators than ever before.

Tasks

We need an experienced Software Engineer who is able to design and deliver best in class solutions & analytics to enhance and simplify our core products.

The successful candidate will report directly to (and work closely with) the CTO and be able to shape the tech platform that underpins our success. Your main responsibilities will be:

• Responsible for the future development of the Renewable Exchange platform
• Support and input ideas into the product roadmap to enable a clear vision of the future development of the Renewable Exchange platform
• Work as part of a small team of ambitious professionals looking to shape the way the renewable energy market works
• Working closely with the CTO to determine requirements and implement bug fixes
• Be our digital champion, promoting efficiency and best in practise solutions to all aspects of company performance

Requirements

• Top level verbal communication ability
• Motivation and personal ambition to learn and succeed
• Dedicated and conscientious attention to detail while maintaining focus on the overall picture

Extensive technical experience in:

• Vue.js/React framework

• Python 3 or node.js

• SQL

• Git

• TDD and CI/CD

• Microservices

The ideal candidate will be a dedicated, professional individual with a strong and extensive tech development background who enjoys total ownership of products and seeing their work shape the future of the business directly. No prior experience of renewable energy is required. We are looking for someone with:

• At least 4 years experience developing software for web applications

• Quick learner and team player

• A self starter with strong commercial acumen

• A keen eye for attention to detail

• Excellent problem solving and analytical abilities

• Location: BS1 with home working days

• Job type: Full time, permanent position

• Typical hours (flexible): 37.5 hours per week

• Salary: competitive depending on experience
