Core Platform Team

The Core Platform Team at Data4Life is responsible for the implementation, maintenance and operations of a diverse set of services. We are covering the complete stack from infrastructure automation (k8s, postgres, etc) to core platform microservices. The team is composed of engineers with different focus, knowledge and skills in a cross-functional manner with a big opportunity to learn.

For strengthening the team we are looking for a DevOps Engineer with strong interest to learn and being involved in projects and tasks throughout the whole stack.

Your future role

  • Operations and improvements to our end-to-end encrypted health data platform that comprises several microservices for user management, OAuth 2.0 / OpenID Connect-based authentication and authorization, data storage, cryptographic key management, email / SMS notifications and API gateway
  • Improve Developer Experience, tweak and maintain CI/CD pipelines
  • Continuous measurement and optimization of the platform with a view to stability and reliability, as well as cost
  • Active participation in our agile architecture and software development activities (planning, code reviews, etc.)
  • Work together with other engineering departments to contribute infrastructure and knowledge to the projects

What you need to succeed

  • You have a degree in software engineering, computer science, or a related field
  • You have at least 2 years of relevant working experience as a software engineer / Site Reliability Engineer, ideally operating a complex micro service architecture
  • You are familiar with at least one programming language and willing to learn Go quickly
  • Ideally, you have good knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL and Redis), experience with cryptography algorithms, or authentication schemes like OAuth 2.0
  • You understand software as a tool for problem solving and are able to make pragmatic choices
  • You re passionate about exploring and working with new technologies
  • You re well-organized and flourish in an agile and remote work environment
  • You value your peers insights and feedback and enjoy a creative and innovative exchange to come up with the best possible solution
  • You re open to participate in our on-call duty shifts
  • You already live in Germany or looking to relocate to Germany
  • You re fluent in English in speech and writing
