Job Description

Responsibilities

  • As Staff Engineer DevOps you are a driver for the maintenance and extension of our existing cloud based infrastructure, primarily inside a Kubernetes ecosystem on AWS
  • As part of our Cloud Platform team you envision, design, implement, maintain and extend our internal Platform-as-a-Service product, which is the foundation of our tech company
  • You enable the product engineering teams to build, ship, run, diagnose and maintain their own services and support our strong Site Reliability Engineering approach
  • You generally strive for automation as well as QA by making it easy to run CI/CD pipelines everywhere
  • You assist in mitigating defects and aim for sensible Incident Management
  • You engage in technical discussions, improve processes as well as structures where necessary, and contribute to shaping our tech roadmap to help the company scale.
  • You act as a mentor for your colleagues, follow tech trends, and constantly bring innovation topics to the discussions

Skills

  • You have been working as a Staff/Senior DevOps, Cloud or Site Reliability Engineer in your previous career and bring a solid understanding of agile software development methodologies
  • You have exhaustive knowledge and hands-on experience with container technologies (Kubernetes, Docker) as well as cloud environments (AWS, GCP)
  • You are familiar with Infrastructure-as-Code technologies (Terraform, CloudFormation), as well as Linux/Unix and are very proficient in logging-, monitoring- and alerting solutions, such as DataDog
  • You work with a problem-solving attitude, have a strong sense of responsibility and enjoy exploring new ways of reaching goals
  • You are an absolute team player, support our strong sharing culture and ideally bring software engineering skills in Golang, Ruby or similar stacks

What we offer

  • Innovation: A challenging and diversified position in an international team, with the latest technologies to implement your own ideas and projects
  • Variety: A wide-ranging field of activity in a dynamic, fast-growing digital company and the opportunity to grow with your role
  • Influence: Working at Aroundhome means taking responsibility from day one combined with enough leeway and short decision paths
  • Development: We offer bi-weekly Tech-meetups, free access to our LinkedIn e-learning Platform, an annual training budget as well as great workshops to seek new input and specific training for your personal development
  • Optimal working conditions: A state-of-the-art office at Potsdamer Platz with the opportunity to work from home, remotely from Germany or the European Union, and a corporate culture characterized by authenticity and team spirit
  • Our promise: Transparency, commitment, and team spirit are values that shape our culture
