About the Role

The primary responsibility of the Senior Accountant is to perform varied accounting functions that includes managing accounts payable, accounts receivable, month end closing processes, recording transactions and journal entries in GL system, preparing account reconciliations, and financial analysis preparation. Additional responsibilities include assisting Finance with the projections process, and event close-out reconciliations. The ideal candidate must demonstrate excellent knowledge of accounting principles, analytical skills and attention to detail, be organized, self-motivated and solution-oriented with the ability to handle a variety of tasks efficiently.



Requirements

  • Develop in-depth knowledge of Travel, Hotel and Event Operations to efficiently assist the Accounting department
  • Manage the payment process for all applicable vendors, in order to pay on-time, uphold strong vendor relationships, and ensure prudent invoicing and reconciliation
  • Manage invoicing process for vendor commissions receivables
  • Lead the preparation of and provide timely and accurate information for event closeouts
  • Record transactions and GL, reconcile accounts, and lead the month-end close process, including preparation of the financial statements on accrual basis
  • Manage revenue and expenses recognition for financial statement purposes with the expectation of working with all departments and consultants to obtain timely and accurate information
  • Respond to Customer Chargebacks and provide relevant information to win the disputes
  • Research and analyze relevant technical accounting issues for proper recognition in accordance with GAAP
  • Ability to execute against the short-term and long-term initiatives of the company, providing support and strategic guidance to the accounting and inventory team.
  • Further enhance your accounting skills e.g., stay on top of the latest accounting guidance, research relevant topics and best practices
  • Identify opportunities to improve the accounting processes.
  • Assist in formulating and implementing new systems, tools, and methods to create economies of scale across the organization
  • Produce strategic analysis and reports as requested to optimize management decision making.
  • Promote compliance with the organization s financial policies and procedures.
  • Evaluate performance and completion of initiatives.
  • Perform other job related duties as requested.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting.
  • 3+ Years of experience in accounting
  • Experience in QuickBooks Online or other accounting software
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Advanced experience with use of Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Word, Outlook) and Google Suite (Sheets, Docs, Slides, etc)
Preferred:
  • CPA Preferred
  • Bilingual, English as the primary language
  • SQL/ Database Experience or a willingness to learn
  • Previous experience working in a similar entertainment setting
Certifications, Licenses, Registrations:
  • Proof of eligibility to work in the United States
