Job Description

We are currently looking for an Underwriting Assistant (Property & Casualty) for a client.

What is in it for you:
Contract for 3 months
Salary of 19,80$/h
Full time role (37,5 h per week)
Hybrid role (1 to 2 days in the Markham office)

Responsibilities:
Assist underwriters with processing of documents including providing administrative and clerical support to the underwriting team
Data entry into the RTM system for new business, renewals, and endorsements including various changes under the direction of underwriters
Report ordering and assistance with billing
Provide maximum broker satisfaction whenever contact is made with brokers focused on commercial property and casualty accounts
Support the team on meeting production goals and targets
Prepare the underwriting pre-work for property and casualty policies
Filing, faxing, and photocopying underwriting materials
Processing loss control reports and other assigned duties
Working as part of a team is essential as well as meeting deadlines
What you will need to succeed:
2 years of related experience in an Administrative or Support role
Practical Property and/or Casualty Insurance background
Completion of a related educational diploma/degree/accreditation, a tremendous asset
Working knowledge of underwriting roles and policies and procedures
Ability to pay attention to detail and to make decisions
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Excellent analytical, organization, and time management skills
