Senior DevOps Engineer

As a Senior DevOps Engineer you are a renaissance person of cloud infrastructure IT services, fully embracing infrastructure in dedicated, multitenant, and hybrid environments.

Ideally, you can test and maintain the infrastructure and tools to allow for the speedy development and release of software and actively supports the core development of product features based on cutting-edge technologies.

Tasks

• Build and set up new development tools and infrastructure (inhouse/customer side);
• Work on ways to automate and improve development and release processes;
• Test and examine code written by others and analyze results;
• Identify technical problems and develop software updates and "fixes";
• Plan out projects and get involved in project management decisions;
• Establish maintenance and monitoring processes and reports (inhouse/customer side);
• Join the SPREAD DevOps guru team in the creation of a solid DevOps culture.

Requirements

MUST-HAVES:

• 5+ years of professional experience as a software developer / DevOps engineer or equivalent;
• Comfortable building infrastructure components from (almost) scratch;
• Experience working with: AWS, Azure, or GCP; Terraform; Ansible; Docker Swarm, and Kubernetes;
• Experience with programming and scripting languages like Python and Bash;
• Experience with Distributed systems, Monitoring and alerting, CI/CD pipelines;
• Database (SQL and/or NoSQL) management experience (backups and restores, migrations, configurations, etc.);
• Solid understanding of Linux kernel; Linux core components; Networking; Security; Version control systems;
• Ability to function, adapt and succeed in a constantly changing, fast-paced environment;
• Entrepreneurial, experimental, and self-driven spirit while also being collaborative, with a professional presence;
• Self-organization and structure, with the ability to define your own tasks;
• Good spoken and written English communications skills.

NICE TO HAVES:

• Experience with a high-level programming language (Golang, C++, Kotlin, Typescript, etc.);
• Experience implementing high-availability solutions;
• Excellent oral and written communication skills with a keen sense of customer service.
