Backend Software Engineer for VR Startup

Through the natural real-world interaction afforded by virtual reality, our VR software product currently enables whole teams in various industries, ranging from healthcare to manufacturing, to design optimal process-driven workspaces. As a software engineer at Inspacion, you will be part of a team building the future of how organizations plan and operate buildings with the use of virtual reality technologies.

Founded in 2017, Inspacion is a ETH Spin-off based in Schlieren, Zurich. Our SaaS product is currently being used by major hospitals, manufacturing companies, and partners in Europe. Currently, we are looking to expand our reach to the rest of the world.

Tasks

Your responsibility

As backend software engineer in our team, you will take responsibility for key parts of our platform and solve challenges in building scalable solutions in an agile fashion:

• Architect, implement, and maintain technical
  solutions (web services, databases, automation) using cloud technologies
  in collaboration with the frontend team
• Actively identify and prioritize use-cases on the platform that can complement our VR software product
• Ensure security and integrity of data handled on the platform
• Take an active part defining the roadmap of the platform

Requirements

Your skills

We are looking for an excellent software engineer who can master challenging tasks and gets
things done. Apart from your ability to work in teams, you should bring along:

• High level of creativity with an agile and autonomous style of work
• Excellent
  programming skills in statically typed languages (C#, Java, Golang
  etc.) and a passion for modern approaches in software development
• Experience in building and maintaining REST-based web services
• Experience in building solutions on cloud providers (Azure, AWS, GCP) or with cloud-native technologies (K8s et al.)
• Experience in database design (e.g. with relational databases)
• Experience with modern front-end web development technologies (React, Vue, Blazor etc.) is a plus
• B.Sc (or higher) degree in computer science or a related field
• Fluent in English, German is a plus
• You are eligible to work in Switzerland
