Can you imagine diving into the development of the software and components for and around our innovative mobile indoor mapping system, operated by companies in more than 25 countries worldwide?
You will join the Mapping and Perception department__, and collaborate closely with people from a diverse set of cultural and professional backgrounds, who share a passion for delivering top-class mapping solutions that aim to digitize physical spaces through the creation of photorealistic digital twins. The team's mission this year
To elevate our software solutions used in mapping entire buildings and creating realistic 3D representations based on cutting-edge technology in the area of robotics.
How you will make an impact
- By developing SLAM algorithms at the core of our mapping devices
- Working on systematic evaluation of accuracy, robustness and the performance of algorithms and sensors
- Processing pipeline from raw sensor data to the generation of point clouds and maps
- Continuous improvement of automated tests and automated delivery of software
What will help you succeed in the role
- A Master's degree or Ph.D. in computer science or a similar field, ideally with a specialization in Simultaneous Localization and Mapping (SLAM)
- A solid foundation in mathematical concepts of geometry and optimization
- Several years of hands-on experience with professional software development (ideally using modern C++ or Python)
- The drive to stay up-to-date on the latest advances in robotics, SLAM, and software development
- A preference for systematic data-driven experimentation and technology development
- Experience with visual SLAM or Lidar-based SLAM
- Experience with Linux, ROS and the Point Cloud Library (PCL) is an added advantage
- Experience with the hardware of sensors like laser scanners, IMUs, and cameras would be nice to have
