Technical Mainframe Subject Matter Expert

Duties/Responsibilities
1. Design, develop and maintain Mainframe COBOL & JCL to meet support and/or project requirements.
2. Interface with business and IT teams to understand business requirements and translate business requirements into formal technical requirements and application code.
3. Work with IT support teams to ensure support and project requirements are developed and successfully implemented.
4. Develop and execute unit test and integration plans/scripts to validate that application changes meet technical specifications.
5. Work with business team to complete acceptance testing and participate in integration testing.
6. Provide Solution Delivery Methodology artifacts associated with application components.
7. Participate in technical reviews at appropriate stages of development.
8. Build batch files as required.
9. Support the required testing.

*General Experience
1. Proven experience on IBM Mainframe z/OS
2. Experience in IBM and third-party Mainframe Utilities
a. File-aid
b. QMF
c. TSO
3. Experience with DB2 v.11, CICS, JCL, VSAM
4. Experience extracting data from DB2 tables
5. Experience transferring files from/to mainframe utilizing file transfer tools (E.g., sFTP/FTPS)
6. Experience in writing flat files for data transfers to mainframes
7. Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
8. Experience Developing and testing batch file processing systems

*Specialized Experience
1. At least five (5) years of experience as a Mainframe SME

Preferred Experience
1. Experience with public accounting applications e.g. R*STARS
2. Experience with mainframe ad-hoc reporting tools e.g. FOCUS

Education
1. *Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or other related discipline.
2. Master's degree or project management certification is preferred.
