Mandatory skills - SQL Server administration required skills |
- L2 MS SQL DBA with extensive experience in large and critical environments.
- Experience with latest version of MSSQL 2012 and above
- Hands-on experience in resolving L2 DBA Alerts/issues
- User/Account/privilege management. Backup/Recovery using native and Enterprise tools.
- Good understanding about regular maintenance. (CHECK/REPAIR/OPTIMIZE/ANALYZE)
- Good knowledge of performance tuning at both server level. Candidate must have good knowledge of on SQL Server dynamic management views
- Good knowledge of SQL server internals
- Good knowledge of SQL partitioning
- Hands-on experience on mirroring, log shipping and AlwaysON
- Good knowledge of scripting. Understand and troubleshoot T-SQL Jobs
- Hands-on experience on SQL Server Clustering.
- Hands-on experience on Integration Services, Reporting services and Analysis services
- Excellent Communication skills both written and verbal.
- Some AWS cloud experience with RDS

- Oracle/MySQL/ PostgreSQL knowledge / experience about various type of Installations and upgrades (Patch/Version).
- Understanding about Enterprise auditing, monitoring, Firewall, Encryption etc
- PowerShell, batch scripting
- Application support (Murex, Calypso, Bloomberg, Reuters etc.)
- ITIL v3 Foundation Certified

- MS certifications on SQL 2012 /2014/2016 and above
- AWS Cloud practoner.

- Ability to think about a problem, identify what we have and implement solutions to solve the problem independently
- Work with onsite client team / Application owners in US / UK to Migrate Applications, Database building and Decommissioning
- Should be flexible to work in 24/7 shifts, Night and Weekend shifts.
- Excellent Communication skills both written and verbal
- Ability to think in and out of the box.
- Self-motivated, conscientious, dedicated individual who works equally well independently or as a member of a team
- Must be willing to take responsibility and ownership instead of waiting to be assigned work
- Must be willing to participate in follow the sun support for Oracle and Cloud technologies.
- The candidate must be willing to provide weekend support for Oracle, MYSQL and Cloud,
- Enable and support the team in resolving day-to-day production issues, application upgrades and patches, performance analysis, disaster recovery implementation, capacity planning and other activities as may be necessary.
- Work on Change implementations during UK, US business hours & weekends as per change management process
- Available on call to drive major incident / outage resolutions
