60% - Good understanding of the rating process {preferably Insurance, Capital Markets type analysis is OK, too}
15% - Hands-on experience with data analysis using SQL ( Advance )
15% - Expert Excel skills (e.g., macros, pivot tables)
10% - Minimum 5 7 years' experience in a Business Systems Analyst Role supporting complex systems development or packaged software implementation efforts
Strong business background in Commercial P&C Insurance Underwriting functions
Minimum of 3-5 years of SQL experience
Strong problem-solving abilities
Skilled in MS Office and Visio
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of executives, subject matter experts, and vendor resources.
Comfortable in a changing environment and some ambiguity
The System Analyst is a vital IT team member, developing solutions to business problems and providing IT support to the Actuarial Department. The role reports to the Business Relationship Manager, who is the business relationship link between business units and IT.
The System Analyst partners with critical stakeholders to define opportunities and document requirements. They work with their IT counterparts to support delivery and define testing. They frequently query databases and programs to find hidden business rules in legacy applications.
As a member of the IT Actuarial team, the System Analyst will become the subject matter expert in the rating methods and tools used at Hudson Insurance.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Gather requirements through interviews
Define requirements through data analysis and reverse engineering
Develop business requirement documentation, use cases, and rating specifications
Become an expert in configuring rating calculations in the Clarion Door software package.
Work with actuaries to develop and document user acceptance test cases
Facilitate user acceptance testing and triage issues
Update Azure Dev Ops as needed to support development and testing
Build a solid relationship with the actuaries by demonstrating expertise and on-time delivery
Ongoing support of production raters
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:
Hands-on experience with data analysis using SQL
Minimum of 3-5 years of SQL experience
