Web Data Specialist

• Partner with investment teams on web data requirements to find appropriate sources, design data models and scraping specs
  

• Engage vendors and technical teams to systematically ingest, evaluate, and create valuable data assets
  

• Apply robust data quality rules to systemically qualify data deliveries and guarantee the integrity of financial datasets
  

• Collaborate with core engineering team to create central capabilities to process, manage and distribute data assets at scale
  

• Investigate and remediate domain-specific production issues escalated by the operations teams
  

• Enrich the central data catalog with advanced data profiling visualizations to enable discovery and evaluation
  

• Build up internal documentation and sample uses cases of the data sets
  

• Types of data and websites to scape is universal in scope - not solely financial based
  

Requirements

• Required Experience:
  

• 3 and above years of experience
  

• Bachelors degree in STEM
  

• Experience with public website structures (sitemap) and technologies (html/javascript/api)
  

• Web scraping experience a MUST
  

• Experience with data modeling and data warehousing
  

• Skilled in SQL, basic knowledge of Python is desired - No coding required
  

• Experience working with FTP, API, S3 and other distribution channels to source data - Nice to have not required
  

• Experience working on multiple projects and with different stakeholders
  

• Desired Experience:
  

• Experience working with alternative and public datasets to answer investment debates
  

• Experience working with cloud native tools for data processing and distribution
  

• Financial domain knowledge a plus
