JOB DESCRIPTION FOR DATA SCIENTIST

Our client is an international Singapore-headquartered logistics company that has a presence in North America and Europe. The company was founded with the vision to improve the collaboration between shippers and logistics services providers through a user-friendly software solution. Over the years, the company has grown and developed its SaaS solution into a modular Transport Management System (TMS). They currently serve SMEs to Fortune 500 companies in over 70 different countries.

We are looking for a Data Scientist who will support our product, sales, leadership, and marketing teams with insights gained from analyzing company data. The ideal candidate is adept at using large data sets to find opportunities for product and process optimization and using models to test the effectiveness of different courses of action.


To be a Data Scientist:

At least three years of experience using quantitative analysis to generate insights, and drive business decisions.
Must have clear and concise communication skills.
Able to convey complex business logic, and analytical recommendations in an international business environment.
Deep understanding of SQL and track record of writing complex queries.
Experience with Data Visualization Tools (E.g. Notebooks, Qlik, Looker, Tableau).
Good understanding of data warehouses (e.g. Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery).
Good understanding of data ingestion methodologies.
Experience in working in co-located Agile teams is a plus.
Excellent ability to work with limited supervision.
Excellent time management and organization skills.
Must be able to meet deadlines in a fast-paced quickly changing environment.


Your Responsibilities as a Data Scientist:

Define the tools and process to deliver data-driven insights & predictions.
Define and maintain data visualizations, guidelines, standards and align your vision with the product team and other developers.
Participate in customer reviews to explain trends from data sources and identify opportunities for improvements.
Create SQL & python code that meets our coding standards.
Actively participate in design decisions to keep our platform future proof
Collaborate closely with our infrastructure & platform teams.
