Job Description

This dedicated team of professionals iscurrently seeking a talented and skilled HR Specialist to join their team! Our client is committed to humanizing the HR recruiting process by hiring someone, like YOU, who is not only good at connecting with the potential candidates, but is also passionate about helping people find their perfect career fit.


The HR Specialist will work in the Assessment Services Unit of the Human Resources Department and will work as part of a team that is responsible for developing valid selection of candidates processes that ensure the highest quality of candidates for a wide range of positions. You will also act as a key partner to business leaders across the agency and within the Human Resources Department and provide consultation and support on testing and assessment activities for positions in operations, maintenance, administrative, police, supervisory, and management job titles. Reporting directly to the Supervisor, Assessment Services Unit.

This position requires the HR Specialist to work at least three (3) days per week in office and two (2) days remote or as directed by the Supervisor, Assessment Services Unit.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Job Analysis
  • Assessment Development (Written, Oral, and Practical Tests as well as In-Baskets, Simulations, and Executive Assessments)
  • Coordination of Test Administration Logistics
  • Training for Item Writers and Assessment Raters
  • Statistical Analysis
  • Performance Evaluation/Survey development and analysis
  • Assessment report writing
Qualifications
  • Masters degree or above in Industrial/Organization Psychology or a related field
  • At least 3 years professional experience in job analysis and test development
  • Knowledge of professional standards related to the use and validation of employmenttests
  • Knowledge of statistics
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills: able to identify problems and systematically gather relevant information; seek root causes of corrections/ data integrity
  • Adaptable: willing and able to adjust to multiple tasks and demands, shifting priorities, ambiguity, and rapid change
  • Ability to facilitate communication between human resources and business leaders on technical issues
  • Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in time-sensitive situations with a keen attention to detail
  • Ability to work across multiple teams and multipleprojects simultaneously in a team oriented, cross-disciplinary, collaborative environment
  • Ability to work independently on multiple projects simultaneously to meet staffing requirements
  • Excellent interpersonal and communications
  • Proficiency with computer software (e.g., MS Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Item Analysis Software, SPSS)
