Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET)

Mainly Remote (Candidate will need to be ONSITE first day, regardless of location. All other work will be remote.) If candidate is local, they will be onsite once a month.

As a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET), your core responsibility includes drafting, planning, and manually execution of various levels of web based application testing - including system, integration, security and functional regression tests. You will automate the functional tests in Cucumber/Gherkin with implementation in Java in an already established automation framework that expands over few thousand scripts.

As part of a team following Agile Kanban methodology, you will be able to not develop automation scripts for business Service Requests but also will get to solve automation framework challenges. All technical and business teams are easily available and are located in the same building. Team has access to multiple regularly refreshed environments to test code before pushing it into production. Team relies heavily on automation scenarios to validate business functionality for new development and regression testing.

We believe in thoroughly and regularly reviewing our dev code. We empower our teams to be independent and to implement DevSecOps culture with various automated tools implementation to eliminate the need for manual execution and verification.

Environment: Oracle DB, Atlassian JIRA, Confluence, Celoxis, Cucumber (Behavior Driven Development BDD) Gherkin syntax for test cases with implementation of Step Definitions and code in JAVA; Jenkins (CI/CD); Docker containers; Java/J2EE framework; Spring, Spring boot apps, micro-services structured applications; Git/Bitbucket as source code and code review application; AWS cloud infrastructure.
