The Role

We are recruiting a Head of Technology to provide technical leadership for our digital delivery and development. You will create and execute the technology strategy that drives the transformation of large enterprises into modern digital businesses within our client portfolio. You will also mentor and guide our development community to drive the growth of DDXs internal capabilities. Your work will help create the change we want to see in the industry, from hands-on work to kick-start a new project, to educating enterprise businesses on forward-thinking software architecture.

Responsibilities

• Overseeing technical infrastructure of the client portfolio
  
• Devising technical strategies to meet the business goals and challenges of our clients
  
• Mentor and coach the software engineering team on best practice ways of working
  
• Building processes on quality assurance, data protection, and information security
  
• Developing and building DDXs internal capabilities
  
• Ensuring the technical expectations of deliverables are met
  
• Becoming a trusted and valued partner of the client CIO/CTO and team
  
• Exploit opportunities for networking and relationship building that arise from delivery activities
  
• Create and support sales activities
  
• Maintain strong knowledge of current technologies and products of DDXs core stack, and discover emerging technologies and products that could yield a competitive advantage
  

Requirements

• Demonstrable experience of architecting and delivering software solutions to meet the requirements of enterprise organizations
  
• Ability to effectively manage a team and inspirepositivity
  
• Ability to communicatetechnology strategy effectively to multiple stakeholders, showing understanding of business issues and relevant software solutions
  
• Ability to use relevant data points to monitor KPIs and assess technological performance
  
• Experience working with CIO/CTO/COO and other senior IT roles to create technical strategies
  
• Knowledge and understanding (ideally with practical experience) of several of the following technical areas:
  
• 5+ years experience in one or more software languages (preferably including one or more of PHP, JavaScript/Node.js, Python)
  
• Databases and related technologies: SQL, DynamoDB, MongoDB, MariaDB
  
• DevOps and Infrastructure-as-Code technologies such as Docker, Terraform, Kubernetes
  
• Public cloud offerings (AWS, GCP, Azure, etc) and their value added services such as networking, compute, message queues, CDNs, caching, databases, object storage etc.
  
• Cloud-native web architecture and design patterns
  
• Version control systems such as Git and related software development workflows
  
• Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery workflows and pipelines
  
• Modern API platform design (REST, gRPC, GraphQL)
  
• Modern web security practices (SAST, DAST, IAST, RASP)
  
• Unit testing, integration testing, end-to-end testing, related software frameworks, and/or BDD/TDD
  
• Performance and scalability
  
• Knowledge and practical experience of agile development methodologies and sprint-based development approach; with experience of having lead software delivery in an Agile/Lean/Continuous Delivery environment
  
• Excellent attention to detail, problem solving aptitude, and organizational skills
  
• Experience with building and leading an offshore/outsourcing function would be highly beneficial
  
• Degree in a relevant field (Computer Science, Engineering) a plus
