The Role:



The Senior NDT Manager/Leader is responsible for production operations in the ultrasonic, chemical etch, magnetic particle and fluorescent penetrant operational areas. The Senior Leader is responsible for executing the production plan, meeting customer schedules and insuring adequate staffing to support those need.


Senior Leader, NDT is also responsible for organizing, planning, and audit surveillance of nondestructive inspection methods. This person is responsible to provide procedures, job standards, methods, and audits of NDT operations to assure conformance to customer, government, and third party requirements.


Job Duties:


1. Coordinate the daily production scheduling in the ultrasonic, chemical etch, magnetic particle and fluorescent penetrant departments.


2. Working with the Operations Manager, determine the appropriate staffing levels for these operational areas.


3. Develop and maintain training programs for these operational areas.


4. Review customer purchase orders and related specifications to determine magnetic particle and liquid penetrant inspection requirements as they relate to capabilities and manufacturing methods. Develop methods, job standards, technique sheets and operating procedures for testing in accordance with customer and/or government requirements.


5. Responsible for training, examination and certification of qualified Level I & Level II NDT personnel required by customer specifications.


6. Manage the operational NDT Level III salary staff workforce. This includes performance management, training, and support in career development.


7. Manage of operational NDT hourly workforce.


8. Assist in the ISO14001 and OSAS18001 Safety and Environmental policy development, training, and execution to meet these industry standards.


Maintain Level III Examiner status by continuing to update technical knowledge and prepare for required government and customer examination every three (3) years. Provide necessary support to insure continued compliance to ISO 9002/AS9100A.



Requirements

Position requires an in-depth knowledge of the principles, theory, and practical application of NDT.

Experience as a Level III in magnetic particle, liquid penetrant inspection, or ultrasonic testing required.
Formal education (Associate degree) or training of approximately 4 to 6 years.
Individual must have qualifications required to be certified as a Level III NDT Examiner.
Incumbent must have a general knowledge of materials, fabrication, product technology & Metallurgy as it relates to NDT.
Communication skills and a general knowledge of applicable labor contract provisions.
