Principal Design Engineer in MCU32 Design group to lead design of advanced 32-bitproduct family


Job Responsibilities:

  • Technical lead to develop 32-bit Microcontroller products from concept through stream-out
  • Define, develop, improve design process flows and methodologies for continuous improvement
  • Perform System Verilog RTL design to integrate modules at SoC level to build 32-bit Microcontroller products
  • Design modules for 32-bit microcontrollers products
  • Simulate at the module level and SoC level to guarantee design objective specification functionality and timing
  • Generate and maintain Micro architecture specification (MAS) at module and SoC level and other design flow documentation
  • Run and debug gate level simulations at SoC level
  • Implement ECOs
  • Work with Synthesis, STA, DFT, APR and Layout engineers to resolve physical design issues for floor-planning and final sign off
  • Interface with and support cross functional teams such as applications, product and test engineering, marketing, development systems, technology development, CAD, layout and other design organizations
  • Debug silicon products in support of Release to Production


Requirements

Requirements/Qualifications:

  • 8-12 years of experience in ASIC/ SoC / FPGA Design
  • Must have technical leadership experience on the complete chip design flow
  • Must be able to write reusable System Verilog RTL codes, follow design and DFT guidelines
  • Must have knowledge of design for low power and design for test and manufacturing
  • Must have detailed understanding of gate level simulation flow and timing paths
  • Must have ability to set the team goals and work consistently towards achieving them
  • Able to write C and Assembly code based tests to verify SoC functionality
  • Able to write good documentation for micro-architecture specification (MAS) and design flows/methodologies
  • Able to write SoC level verification test plans
  • Able to provide constraints for synthesis and static timing analysis
  • Able to run formal verification/equivalence checking
  • Able to write functional test patterns for production test program
  • Have scripting and automation skills - Linux shell scripting, Perl, Tcl, Makefile and revision management (CVS etc)
  • Strong analytical, and problem solving skills, as well as hands-on SoC debugging / bring up skills
  • Self-motivated, able to work independently, excellent communication skills, excellent presentation skills for design reviews and ability to excel in a team environment
  • MSEE with 8+ years or BSEE with 10+ years of industry experience


Job Requirements: Develop and implement functional, performance and system level/use-case validation of 32 bit microcontrollers Experience with Microcontrollers, FPGAs, and in general, Embedded Systems. Familiar with embedded ARM Cortex M family, RISC-V, MIPS is preferred Experience with communication busses (GPIB, RS-232, RS-485, SPI/QSPI, I2C, I2S, USB, EBI, Ethernet, etc.). Experience with Embedded firmware development and should have strong hands-on knowledge of embedded C programming language Candidate will have the primary role of creating, auditing, and overseeing test procedures, validation plans, data collection, post-processing of validation data, reports, and documenting results. Candidate should be familiar with using lab equipment such as Oscilloscopes, Logic Analyzers, Power Supplies, Arbitrary Waveform and Pulse generators, etc. Fluent in use of PCB schematics and layout. Develop performance tests for determining circuit margin and datasheet parameters. Develop automated lab-based testing of microcontroller for both digital and analog modules at the unit level and at the full chip level and should be able to troubleshoot and resolve issues found during validation Design or assist in the development of new testing infrastructure for use within the validation team Drive design recommendations to improve the validation process, such as enhancements to test software and hardware environments, lab equipment usage, and data management. Work with the validation team on customer support requests for released products. Work in an international environment (Europe, Asia, USA) with diverse functional groups (Architecture, Analog/Digital Design, Applications, Marketing, Product and Test Engineering). Qualifications & Experience: Candidate must be a College Graduate with a Bachelor s degree in Electrical / Electronic or Computer Engineering (or equivalent). Candidate should have 6 to 8 years of related work experience. Required Skills : Experience with Clock subsystem and Reset subsystems (BOR, POR, Bandgap, WDT etc.) and exposure to Analog peripherals (ADCs, DACs, Comparators, Op-AMPs, CTMU). Exposure to bench automation tools(NI Tools - LabView/TestStand) and scripting languages is add-on Experience in application development, system level test development Strong analytical and problem-solving / debug skills. Code and System debugging skills using in circuit emulators and lab equipment such as oscilloscope/logic analyzer. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Able to work well in a team environment and adapt real-time. Able to think of test cases and customer usage model that may violate the assumptions of designers and architects. Able to prioritize tasks and execute to rigorous and dynamic schedules. Able to understand and generate board schematics, , board design - schematic entry, BOM creation, net list generation (logical board design) Comprehensive record keeping and detailed debugging notes.
