- During times of incapacitation, convalescence, or family upheaval, provide care and company for people and families.
- Assist patients in bedside and personal care tasks include clothing and undressing, bathing, maintaining personal hygiene, and ambulation.
- Plan and prepare special diets and meals, and feed or help clients with their feeding.
- Under the general supervision of a home care agency supervisor or nurse, may carry out regular health-related tasks such changing non-sterile bandages, assisting with the administration of medications, and gathering specimens.
- May carry out standard household tasks including laundry, dish washing, and making the beds.
Requirements
English or French Proficiency : CLB 5 or more
Education : Canadian High School Diploma or equivalent with ECA report
Experience : One year full time (or equivalent part time ) paid and related work experience in the last 5 years.
The best candidates are the ones with nursing education and background or some related experience like working in a senior home or home care center.
Successful candidate needs to qualify for an exam after one year (at their own cost)
