Job Description

CVD Equipment Corporation (NASDAQ: CVV) designs, develops, and manufactures a broad range of chemical vapor deposition, gas control, and other state-of-the-art equipment and process solutions used to develop and manufacture materials and coatings for research and industrial applications. This equipment is used by its customers to research, design, and manufacture these materials or coatings for aerospace engine components, medical implants, semiconductors, battery nanomaterial, solar cells, smart glass, carbon nanotubes, nanowires, LEDs, MEMS, and other applications.

It s wholly owned subsidiary CVD Materials Corporation provides advanced materials and metal surface treatments and coatings to serve demanding applications in the electronic, biomedical, petroleum, pharmaceutical, and many other industrial markets.

CVD Equipment Corporation, located in Central Islip, NY, has an opportunity for a Mechanical Drafter who will create mechanical part and assembly drawings from engineer s 3D models in the design of custom Semiconductor, Nanotechnology, and Industrial Deposition Process Equipment.

What you will do:
  • Create and update technical drawings, manufacturing schematics, 2D and 3D models of mechanical equipment designs using measurements, specifications, and other data from the engineering team.
  • Coordinate with Engineers and Project Managers to understand project requirements, design details, and modifications in accordance with company standards and best practices.
  • Verify and note numerical designations and specifications in technical drawings and schematics.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing personnel as necessary to ensure drawings adhere to production requirements.


Requirements

Education & Experience
  • Associate/Vocational Certification in mechanical drafting, engineering design, plus 2 years of relevant work experience using AutoCAD, Inventor, or similar CAD packages.
  • Experience with Industrial Process Equipment a plus.

Required Skill & Abilities
  • Proficiency with 2D & 3D modeling software such as AutoCAD, Inventor etc.
  • Proficiency with Windows OS, and ERP systems.
  • Working knowledge of machine shop operations and equipment assembly.
  • Strong grasp of mathematical concepts and engineering principles.
  • Analytical, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills.
  • Self-starter, highly organized, and resourceful.
  • High degree of effectiveness working in a collaborative and open culture of cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to effectively manage priorities.
  • Effective organizational skills, with a high level of efficiency, and attention to detail.
  • Working knowledge of Autodesk Vault a plus.
