Job Description

Lifeplan is looking for an energetic, self-starting, people focused Team Leader to join our growing organisation. The core function of this role will be to provide outstanding leadership to our valuable team of Support Workers.

Lifeplan is a not-for-profit organisation that provides disability support services in the community to people of all ages throughout Perth, Western Australia. Established in 1999, Lifeplan is an NDIS registered service provider that prides itself on working collaboratively with local co-ordinators, planners, guardians and accommodation providers.


As a service provider, Lifeplan s work is focusedon always being alongside customers, supporting them to take charge of their own lives; and helping them to participate fully within their self-identifiedcommunity. Those services are tailored to support customers and their families to choose the support they need, who will provide it, and how it will be delivered. Individualised customer service, and matching support worker to customerare central to the work that we do.

The role
The successful candidate will be required to oversee the day-to-day supervision and support of the team, monitoring their workload, performance and competencies. You will have a key focus in building team capabilities and driving continued improvement initiatives.

Key responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and support to the support worker team within a dynamic and fast-paced environment
  • Manage the day-to-day queries and provide remote support when necessary
  • Assist with the recruitment and delivering induction of new Support Workers
  • Conduct assessments and performance reviews of Support Workers in consultation with People & Culture
  • Work with the Operations Manager to identify and implement improvement opportunities
  • Develop and foster an empowered, harmonious and professional team culture centred around Lifeplan s Values
  • Collaborate and seek input from internal stakeholders to identify areas of improvement
  • Ensuring adherence to all customer service, quality, risk management, compliance and regulatory requirements
  • Being part of the on-call roster
About you


Essential skills and experience:

  • Previous experience in a Team Leader role, preferably within an NDIS or community services organisation
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Demonstrated experience in performance management and performance improvement processes
  • Strong organisational and prioritisation skills
  • Demonstrated high level of problem solving skills
  • Demonstrated high attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal and coaching skills
  • Intermediate MS Office skills and experience with CRM systems
  • Experience working within regulatory guidelines
  • Ability to resolve conflicts in a timely manner
  • Ability to think on your feet and adapt to the scenario at hand
  • Demonstrated ability to foster and develop a culture of teamwork
  • Ability to work flexible hours to meet set deadlines and objectives
Pre-Employment Requirements:
  • Valid right to work in Australia
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check or willingness to obtain one
  • NDIS Worker Orientation Module
  • Infection Control Certificate -COVID-19
  • Fully vaccinated against COVID-19
To be successful in this role, you will need to becomfortable with working in a fast-paced environment and be able to make decisions that will impact our customers and our team using your strong problem-solving skills with the support from the Operations Manger.
