Job Description
A financial services provider is seeking an experienced and passionate Mid-Level Developer to join their FinTech division. As one of South Africa s largest small and medium business funders, their aim is to provide over R1 billion of business
funding annually to both local and international SMEs. They partner with FinTech companies in the payments, point-of-sale, and accounting space to offer funding-as-a-service to their merchants through their innovative digital platform. Their
revenue growth is exceeding 100% per annum and new opportunities are constantly being discovered within the markets
they operate in
A bit about the role:
Reporting to the Software Development Manager, we re seeking a Mid-Level Developer who is truly a team player and enjoys helping other people grow. This position will contribute to projects with involvement ranging from the design of software solutions to the creation, testing and support of those solutions.
Requirements
Your daily adventures include:
- Periodic first-line operational support handling queries internally from the company and from Partners
Deliver software as planned through their agile methodology
Being able to work in a team, review code from others and being able to process feedback constructively
Create an automated test (where possible) to confirm the ongoing reliability of the code
Upskill and learn new technologies using various educational resources available
Mentor less-experienced developers and help them improve their coding through constructive feedback
Help and support with resolving bugs when required
What it takes to succeed:
Required: Diploma or degree in Computer Science or Information Systems
Required: Experience and knowledge of Python
Required: 3 to 5 years of software development experience
Advantageous: Knowledge of Amazon Web Services
Ability to work under pressure
Ability to make recommendations based on analysis of application data
Self-motivated and passionate about motivation within a team
Tech Stack
Database: PostgreSQL
Programming Language: Python used in Flask microservices
Infrastructure: AWE (Lambda, CloudFront, S3, SES, SQS, RDS)
Dev Tools: Git, Slack, VS Code, Jira, Confluence, Microsoft Office Suite
OS: Ubuntu or Windows (Windows with WSL2 is preferred)
