Job Description

Our client is a supplier of hardware to the aluminium window and door industry.
We are looking to recruit sales talent from the industry preferably, alternatively sales professionals good tenure, technical ability, go to network calling on aluminium companies.

Job Description
  • Ensure that business objectives are understood and achieved by close and ongoing collaboration with the Regional Sales Manager
  • Activities will focus on a combination of maintaining and growing the baskets of existing customers, as well as new business development activities within the aluminium window and door hardware space
  • Continued awareness of competitor activity and tailoring of activities accordingly
  • Open and regular communication (via meetings, phone, email reporting) on a daily basis with the Regional Sales Manager and the Internal Support team
  • Travel will comprise a large part of the job, therefore own vehicle is essential.
  • Responsible for ensuring the operational objectives and accounts are achieved in full and on time, inclusive of Gross Sales, Gross Profit and Costs
  • Ongoing training and development is a key focus of the role.
  • A clear understanding of the company way of working and company culture
  • Call and activity cycles will be agreed and updated on a monthly basis.
  • Sales meetings to be attended when called for.

Daily focus:

Ascertain outstanding deliveries and associated plan

Discuss promotional lines and new lines with buyer / line manager.

Follow up on orders and stock issues advise relevant parties.

Deliveries to clients should only be done by exception.

Managing the customer as a key stakeholder, optimizing value for the customer.

Building meaningful relationships with all key stakeholders into partnerships.

To carry out other duties and tasks as directed by the Regional Sales Manager.

Provide feedback on Account performance issues and opportunity gaps to National Sales Manager.

Maintain close contact and good relations with the broader company team

Recommends, develops and implements short-term corrective action relating to pricing.

Implementation of trade plans as set out by the company.

To monitor distribution of all products and recommend ranging opportunities to National Sales Manager within accounts.

To maintain a spreadsheet which tracks sales targets and take remedial action to correct any short falls on non-achievement.

Compile weekly customer feedback.


Skills and Characteristics:

  • A hunter mentality and self-starter who takes the initiative
  • A natural ability to grasp technical information is a must
  • A deep understanding of the aluminium window and door hardware market
  • Target and Outcomes driven.
  • A relationship-builder and team participator
  • Ability to maintain key accounts and customers requirements
  • Regular visits to customers to build long term customer relationships for sustainable market development and sales growth
  • Attending weekly sales meetings
  • Mature, self-driven, respectable person with a clean employment track record and healthy lifestyle

  • Excellent communicator who speaks and writes eloquently
  • Good computer knowledge of email, word, excel
