About the team

The Marketing Technology team is an important part of the B2B side of JustWatch. We were the first and are the leading Movie & TV show entertainment-centered marketing platform worldwide and had to build our tools from scratch. Our custom-built marketing platform allows our campaigns team to execute a volume of campaigns that, if done manually, would require a much bigger team.

We are looking for a driven working student who is motivated by learning, to support and build our industry leading marketing automation tools.

Our Stack

Our backend is driven by GO supported by a Postgres database. We host our applications and services with Kubernetes and Google Cloud Services provide a lot of bits and pieces needed to get everything to work together.

Here's what you'll do

• Develop new features and services in Golang for our campaigns department
• Maintain and extend our database as needed
• Be an active part of discussions, bring in your ideas, ask questions, point out solutions
• Direct support for our campaigns department

What you'll need

• First and foremost, it is fine if you don't know everything from the get go, as long as you are passionate about learning and hacking on problems on your own. Curiosity is the core ingredient we are looking for. At JustWatch you will be able to find out what you enjoy most and develop into the role that fits you best.
• Foundation in software engineering (we mainly use Golang, but a willingness to learn is more important than existing skills)
• Foundation in relational databases (we mainly use Postgres, but SQL is at the core of this requirement)
• Basic knowledge in web technologies and networking

Additionally, we have the following hard requirements:

• Fluent in English
• Currently enrolled at a German university
