Job Description

Our story:

Every year millions of people are either filing their taxes in fear or giving up on their tax refund altogether. We're working on fixing that. Our intuitive app enables anyone, regardless of education or background, to file their taxes with newfound confidence.

Spread across Berlin and Madrid, Team Taxfix is a compassionate group of solution-finders. We speak our minds openly, and with 500+ professionals from 45+ different nationalities, we're rich in ideas and voices. In five years, we've raised over 300 million euros in funding and helped people reclaim more than one billion euros.

Your challenge:

As our Head of DEIAB, you will enable impactful and scalable strategy that embeds different aspects of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, Accessibility, and Belonging into all areas of the organization. Reporting to our Chief People Officer and collaborating with the employee-led Diversity Guild as well as stakeholders from throughout the organisation, you will identify impactful initiatives, suggest solutions, and execute on a roadmap that will make for a fairer and more equitable workplace. You will take a data-driven approach to our business practices to identify where we can make the biggest impact for both our employees and our customers.

Your responsibilities:

  • Propose and shape initiatives that improve DEIAB strategy and processes in the organization, define the organisation s strategy, and drive implementation.
  • Advise and coach all levels of leadership on active allyship and inclusive leadership skills to ensure a culture of belonging starts at the top.
  • Create and manage DEIAB programs, including those related to hiring, promotion, pay equity, employee coaching, leadership development, onboarding, and more.
  • Understand challenges and priorities for DEIAB: have a data-driven approach, collect and analyze metrics and propose best practice solutions.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across the organisation to improve engagement and department initiatives
  • Lead and plan trainings together with our L&D team, for individual contributors and managers that empower individuals to make more inclusive decisions within the scope of their own work
  • Partner with the employee-led Diversity Guild to incorporate feedback, address challenges, and empower discussion.
  • Moderate discussions on DEIAB topics and understand how to foster discussions while setting positive boundaries.
  • Collaborate with and support the "Employee Representation Group" to make sure DEIAB aspects are considered and valued.
  • Connect to other DEIAB leaders in the field, attend relevant conferences and meetups, and collaborate with our communications team on gaining more external presence for DEIAB topics at Taxfix.

Your profile:

  • A hands on and established DEIAB Leader with 7+ years of relevant experience working in HR/People teams, recruiting, or consulting with an emphasis in DEIAB
  • Experience developing and implementing forward-thinking DEIAB strategies that address critical business needs
  • Demonstrated ability to be both strategic and hands-on (not afraid to roll up your sleeves).
  • High integrity and maturity to handle confidential information and sensitive situations in a way that builds trust
  • Previous experience leading organizational changes in a fast-growing organization.
  • Demonstrated experience collaborating with senior leadership.
  • Familiarity with European laws and context that impact how to assess and address DEIAB issues.
  • You constantly work on developing yourself, adopting new and relevant skills continuously.
  • Previous experience in a start-up or scale-up is a plus.

Why Taxfix?

  • A chance to do meaningful, people-centric work with an international team of passionate professionals.
  • Holistic wellbeing with free mental health coaching sessions, yoga, and a discounted membership to Urban Sports Club.
  • A monthly allowance to spend on home support services, including childcare, housekeeping, pet sitting, tutoring, and elderly care.
  • Employee stock options for all employees because everyone deserves to benefit from the success they help to create.
  • 30 annual vacation days and flexible working hours.
  • Full trust to take ownership of your work in a flat hierarchy where feedback is encouraged and expected.
  • A generous learning budget to support your personal and professional development and guidance from our internal L&D experts.
  • Work from abroad for up to six weeks every year. Just align with your team, and then enjoy your trip.
  • Plenty of opportunities to socialise as a team. In addition to internal meetups, our international team hosts regular get-togethers virtually and in person when possible.
  • Free tax declaration filing, of course, through the Taxfix app and internal support for all personal tax-related questions.
  • Have a four-legged friend in your life? We re happy to have dogs join us in the office.
