Job Description
- Designing and developing new communication technologies or applications such as mobile phones, satellite communications, or digital television
- Testing new equipment to ensure it meets performance standards
- Estimating costs of projects and overseeing budgets for projects to ensure they are within constraints
- Conducting research on emerging topics in the field of communications engineering, such as signal processing or computer networking
- Developing and maintaining effective working relationships with other engineers, scientists, management staff, clients, vendors, and contractors
- Designing and implementing new communication technologies or applications such as mobile phones, satellite communications, or digital television
- Performing engineering calculations and conducting research to design new products or improve existing ones
- Evaluating potential safety risks associated with new technologies or procedures before they are implemented
