Provides leadership in the development, implementation, promotion, and assessment of AIU digital archive and scholarship initiatives.
Maintains current knowledge of standards used in the creation of digital archives collections including best practices.
The Digital Archivist will apply professional standards to the processing, arrangement, and preservation of records; oversee creation of finding aids and creation of MARC catalog data.
Surveys collections, develops and implements processing plans in consultation with the relevant stewards of institutional records.
Creates and maintains the research repository-related documentation and workflows.
Maintains and does quality checks for research repository-related metadata standards.
Conducts quality checks on research repository submissions from the AIU user community.
Identifies conservation concerns and performs basic preservation practices.
Recommends best practices regarding the development of both print and digital access to the records.
