Organize and perform the day-to-day pre and post-operative care of inpatients
as advised and guided by the Registrars and Consultants in the department.
The Clinical Fellow is expected to be on the ward during the normal working
day except for natural breaks and when clinical duties elsewhere so demand.
Examine and clerk all patients admitted to the wards and ITU. Maintain
regular and comprehensive progress notes in the case records of patients. In
the case of HDU patients and critically ill patients, a daily progress note is
mandatory.
Arrange relevant investigations and liaise with the various departments
regarding the results of investigations. Ensure that results of investigations
are conveyed to the Registrars and Consultants.
Prepare for and attend the Registrar and Consultant ward rounds and carry
out duties thus allocated.
Clinical Fellows are encouraged to attend the routine or emergency operating
sessions, when required or as opportunity allows. A provisional roster is
published to specify clinic and theatre slots.
Attend outpatient clinics under supervision of the Consultant, as required.
