On May 3, the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources issued a circular to ministries and federal authorities concerning the federal government's remote working system, which is one of the main types of work approved by the legislator in the federal government.
The circular states that this system will be applied permanently by federal authorities under normal circumstances, after the precautionary measures taken to regulate government work, in the light of the spread of the Corona pandemic, have been completed.

The FAHR explained that the decision would create new jobs, as well as provide multiple employment options for staff and their employers to maintain a work-life balance.The system will be applied to the Emirati staff on duty, in ministries and federal entities, or who will be appointed in the future to appropriate remote jobs.
The FAHR also invited all ministries and federal entities to familiarize themselves with the mechanism for selecting personnel for remote work, as well as the criteria for determining their appropriate remote jobs; and send them to the Authority so that they can ensure that the conditions required are met and then approved.
According to the FAHR, the aim of applying the federal government's remote work system under normal circumstances is to attract and maintain the distinctive competencies, reduce the operational costs of ministries and federal entities and provide government services out of official working hours.
The Authority concluded circular No. 12 of 2020 on the remote work system in the Federal Government that it was fully prepared to provide any support or assistance to ministries and federal entities in the application of the provisions of the remote work system in the Federal Government.
