الوصف الوظيفي

Job purpose:

To coordinate the preparation of accurate and up-to-date financial and management accounting information to facilitate decision making and establishing and maintaining effective internal control systems and procedures. Maintaining robust cash handling and banking procedures.

Main tasks and responsibilities(the position exist to perform the below tasks and essential activities)

  • Contribute to the development and execution of the finance department’s short to mid-term plans to ensure alignment with the healthcare’s strategic priorities and contribute to the development of annual business plans for the assigned areas of responsibility to support the achievement of financial objectives.
  • Monitor, control, and report key performance indicators related to the department, to track performance and recommend corrective actions.
  • Manage the performance management, career progression, and activities of direct reports by setting annual objectives, identifying training opportunities, mentoring, coaching, and providing constructive feedback to improve their performance.
  • Contribute with ideas that support an efficient and effective structure and resource allocation for the finance department, to ensure smooth workflow of operational processes and optimal utilization of resources.
  • Provide input into the preparation and consolidation of the department’s budget, monitor financial performance during the year and identify areas of unsatisfactory performance (if any), and recommend mitigating actions.
  • Provide accurate and timely management accounting reports and business performance data.
  • Coordinate the preparation of accurate and up-to-date financial and management accounting information to facilitate decision-making.
  • Designs, implements and maintains internal controls, reports for financial systems and interfaces.
  • Maintain robust cash handling and banking procedures.
  • Design and implement effective systems of monitoring performance against budget.
  • Identify significant budget variances and possible remedial action.
  • Produce divisional and corporate forecasts for income and expenditure on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis.
  • Provide relevant and timely monthly statements, reports and reconciliations together with appropriate interpretation and advice for the Senior Management Team
  • Ensure effective cash flow and treasury management.
  • Recommend procedures and implements corrective action wherever indicated in operations, areas out of compliance with hospital policy, internal controls and accounting policies, as assigned.
  • Liaise with the external auditors and managing the annual audit process.
  • Assist in monthly, quarterly and annual period close process, as assigned.
  • Provide input into the development and implementation of the finance department’s policies, systems, processes and procedures, identifying potential areas of improvement, to support an efficient and effective operation.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant HSE&E and QM policies, procedures and controls across the department to guarantee employee safety, legislative compliance, delivery of high-quality service standards and a responsible environmental attitude.

Education requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, Commerce or equivalent (Essential)
  • Postgraduate degree in Business Administration / Finance (Preferred)

Experience:

  • Minimum 8 years of experience in Accounts in healthcare (required)
  • 3 years in charge in the same level (required)
  • Minimum 3 years in GCC (preferred)

Knowledge and Skills

  • Ability to analyze and develop solutions to complex problems.
  • Ability to apply judgment and informed decisions.
  • Ability to communicate complex concepts in a simple form to non-finance users to understand the appropriate use and limits of the information provided.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal formats including summarizing data, presenting results.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Ability to manage, organize, prioritize, multi-task, and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Ability to work effectively both as a team player and leader.
  • Knowledge of computer systems and software used in accounting and functional area.
  • Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Knowledge of government and sector regulatory requirements related to the functional area.
