Commercial construction project managers work with architects, engineers, and clients to determine the specifications of a project. They plan the construction operations and schedule each phase of the timescale to make sure the project is completed to the set deadline.

Negotiate Contracts

A key part of this job is negotiating with external vendors. These project managers amend the contract where they can to reach a profitable agreement that all parties are satisfied with and one that works within the set budget. Commercial construction project managers also obtain the necessary permits and licenses from authorities to ensure the project meets regulations.

Determine Necessary Resources

These project managers determine the resources required for each aspect of the project, such as equipment needed, materials, and labor, assessing each of these for budget limitations. They make sure that the equipment and materials are acquired on time and check stock levels regularly to make sure anything that’s running low can be reordered.

Allocate Responsibilities and Tasks

They also hire contractors for the build and allocate responsibilities and tasks to them and other staff to ensure the project is completed efficiently.
